Many aspiring entrepreneurs and teacherpreneurs are wandering around goalless and dreamless. Why? Because it’s easier to just stay in your comfort zone. If you’ve tried pursuing a business venture before and it failed, you don’t want to set yourself up for it again.
Are you sure that’s the route you want to follow, though? Regardless of whether you’re happy in your current career or not, you can’t refuse success doing something you love, right?
Whether you’re “old”, “young”, or somewhere in-between, it’s NEVER too late to get the ball rolling on your dreams. All you need is a good mixture of motivation, reassurance, and a clear goal.
I’m Demotivated – How Can I Get Inspired to Try?
When we feel hopeless, demotivated, and scared to take a leap and start something completely new, we tend to just leave it and hope a miracle happens. It’s easier that way, right?
Well, nope! If you’re stuck in a job that you love but feel it’s going nowhere, or one that’s not at all what you expected (and completing every task feels like an unattainable mountain), there IS hope!

Defining Your Goals as an Entrepreneur
Step 1: The Morning Thought
Are you thinking, “Ugh…” or “Woohoo!” when you open your eyes in the morning? If you’re thinking the prior, consider what would make you feel less Ugh. That’s your first move. If you’re thinking Wohoo, reflect on everything that motivates you. Write that down and write what will make you even more motivated on another page.
Step 2: Talk About Your Findings with Loved Ones
How loved ones experience and perceive you and your future has a massive impact on your motivation. If you’ve come up with an idea of what would make you content, your spouse, parents, children, or even friends will try and imagine you in that position. Hopefully, this will give you even more motivation to go for it.
Step 3: Determine a Short- and Long-Term Vision
Take a step into what you imagine your next move will be. Try to establish some goals for the long term as well as the short term. With each of these, try to come up with missions and action plans as to how you’re going to achieve them.
Step 4: Goals, Deadlines, and Time Management
Establish your goals as an entrepreneur. Make deadlines for these goals, and try and determine how much time you’ll need to achieve them. Remember to be realistic about it!
