What is a Passion?
Good question! To some, a passion relates to their work. To others, a passion is something outside of work, like a hobby.
But…
Wouldn’t it be great if your passion was both your hobby and your work?
According to the dictionary, a passion is “…an intense desire or enthusiasm for something.” Whether your passion lies in your work as a teacher or a hobby you barely have time for, you might actually have the opportunity to turn it into something more and earn from it!
With passion, you can do incredible and unimaginable things.
How Do I know That I’m Passionate About Something?
Whether you know what you’re passionate about or not, it’s going to be a journey either way. If you do know what you’re passionate about, or that you really enjoy doing something, don’t give it up! The thing about having a passion is that if you don’t do anything about it, it’s probably going to waste. Sure, you might be scared to take the risk and pursue it, but at the end of the day, anything will be scary and difficult if it takes you out of your comfort zone.
A Teacher’s Passion and a Passion to Make a Profit
If you’re a teacher and that itself is your passion, excellent! But the fun doesn’t stop there…
Let’s compare:
Scenario 1: Being a teacher is your passion
If you have a natural knack for working with kids or young adults and you wake up every day excited to go to work, you’re undoubtedly in a very fortunate situation. Still, using that passion and distributing it toward other ventures is never a bad idea. For example: Let’s say you’re a literary teacher. You’re teaching students what you know and they’re enjoying every lesson. You can actually use your knowledge and creativity to sell valuable information, share notes, or even give online tutoring classes – especially during difficult times like COVID-19.
Scenario 2: Being a teacher is not your passion
If you’ve reached a point where you realize teaching isn’t really something you’re passionate about, or it’s not quite what you expected, you can still use your knowledge and creativity to earn an extra income. If you want to test the waters first and continue teaching while starting a new venture, we say go for it! Furthermore, teaching can become challenging when you feel like you’re not making a difference with the kids in your class. Teaching and tutoring online can really reopen your passion if you find a student that genuinely cares about what you have to offer.
The Conclusion
Whether teaching is your passion or not, you can really use your skills and creativity to make a difference not only in a couple of kids’ lives but in your own life too.
Finding your passion and acting on it gives you purpose and, if you play your cards right, can transform into profit! So, do what you love and love what you do – even if it means wandering off in another direction!
